About The Artist

Hello and welcome to my website! I'm Mika, the artist behind all the wood burned and laser engraved creations you see here! Originally from Arkansas, I now proudly call Florida my home. I graduated from the University of Central Arkansas with my Bachelor's degree in Art in 2018.

From an early age, art has been my compass, guiding me toward a world of boundless creation. I've always been drawn to art that speaks and invites interaction. As a child, my creations took the form of interactive color books and whimsical bookmarks. In college, this passion evolved into sculpting pieces with dual purposes, where form and function intertwined seamlessly. It was during this time that I discovered my affinity for working with natural elements like stone and metals.

I didn't find my true artistic calling until I began wood burning. I first picked it up as a hobby, but it swiftly blossomed into a profound passion. The allure of crafting functional art from natural resources like pine, acacia, and teak wood captured my heart and ignited my creativity. 

The intricate mandala designs feature most of my work. These have been a long fascination of mine. Sketching these mesmerizing patterns in my notebook became a therapeutic process for me where time seemed to stand still. I get lost in the rhythm of creation while hours would slip away unnoticed and all that would be left behind was a sense of calm and fulfillment. 

Sometimes I switch gears and lean towards more realistic drawings, but ultimately the design on every board, coaster, keychain, and other objects you'll find on my website is handmade by me. Whether it's wood burned, a drawing that is laser engraved, or a mix of the two, each piece carries my artistic essence.
